What are the types & shapes available?
Stainless Steel Counter Tops are available in many types and shapes. Each type and shape is described in detail below:
The rectangle shape countertop is by far the most common shape we fabricate. This countertop shape is available in any length and width, including a square shape. The countertop can be fully customized with backsplashes, integrated sinks, integrated compost bins, drainboard lines, radius corners, and any finished edge of your choosing. This shape of countertop is commonly installed along walls but is also available as an island. The major difference is that island countertops would have all of their edges finished.
The “L” Shape countertop is the second most popular shape we fabricate. This countertop shape is available in any length and width. It typically requires more time to fabricate since most often they are built in sections and welded together. These welded sections are then polished to a #4 (brushed) finish. This countertop can be customized with backsplashes, integrated sinks, integrated compost bins, drainboard lines, radius corners, and any finished edge. In some circumstances the countertop will be fabricated in sections with a hairline join. This may be required for installation in tight spaces or to reduce overall costs.
The 7-Edge Shape countertop is similar to the “L” shape except that it includes an angled inside corner which allows easy access to a sink.
The “U” Shape countertop is similar to the “L” shape but with an additional leg. This countertop shape is available in any length and width and can also be fabricated with angled inside corners as with the 7-Edge Shape to allow for easy access to a sink.
The Radius (Curved) shape countertop generally includes all curved shapes whether it is a single curve or multiple curves such as the letter “S”. Of all the countertop shapes this requires the most time to fabricate since it needs much more welding and polishing than other shapes. The countertop is fabricated in multiple sections which are welded together and then polished to a #4 (brushed) finish. This countertop can be customized with backsplashes, integrated sinks, integrated compost bins, drainboard lines, and radius corners. It is only available with a straight ‘box’ edge finish. In some circumstances the countertop will be fabricated in sections with a hairline join. This may be required for installation in tight spaces or to reduce overall costs.
